Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Payroll Administrator to join our accounting team. The Junior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing employee compensation for two dealerships by gathering compensation information, calculating wages, processing direct deposits and handling deductions accurately and on time. This individual will also update and maintain records, prepare reports, resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain confidentiality for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and verify employee timesheets, hours worked and other payroll-related data.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and ensure correct deductions for taxes, group insurance and RRSP plans
  • Process direct deposits for employees
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, changes in status, exemptions or coverage.
  • Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, and deductions for management or finance.
  • Administer company Group Insurance and Group RRSP programs – liaise with providers and assist employees with any benefit-related matters.
  • Generate and file annual reporting items such as T4s, T4As, etc
  • Answer employee questions and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Adhere to company policies, tax laws and maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Payroll diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Payroll software, spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Experience with Paymate/Clarity software is a plus.
  • Strong numerical, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and high ethical standards.
  • Automobile Dealership experience is an asset.
