Canadian documentation for the 2027 Kia Seltos already spells out the trim ladder, the powertrains and the equipment steps between grades, leaving only pricing to be announced. The lineup opens with the LX in FWD or AWD and moves through EX and EX Premium, all powered by a 147 hp 2.0 L four-cylinder with an IVT, before switching to the 190 hp 1.6 L turbo with an 8-speed automatic in X-Line and X-Line Limited, both AWD only. A hybrid with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and optional e-AWD will add further configurations by the end of 2026.
Every AWD Seltos uses a locking differential, which holds torque evenly across the axle on low-grip surfaces rather than reacting after a wheel spins, a meaningful advantage on Manitoba side streets in January. Base equipment is generous: a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, remote start, heated front seats, eight airbags and over-the-air updates are on every trim. The 2.0 L and turbo versions are due in Winnipeg this summer.
- Start with drivetrain: only the LX offers FWD, so buyers who want the lower entry point and fuel use of 7.6 L/100 km combined should look there first.
- Step to EX for leatherette, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate with a 5-inch display, navigation, Highway Driving Assist, a power liftgate and 18-inch wheels.
- Choose EX Premium if ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof and the Surround View and Blind-Spot View Monitors matter to you.
- Move to X-Line or X-Line Limited for the turbo engine, 19-inch wheels, the triple-display layout and, on Limited, HDA 2, a Heads-Up Display and Harman Kardon audio.
